One person's story works harder than a statistic of a thousand
A nonprofit annual report is 12 PDF pages no donor reads. A 5-10 minute mini-doc with a central character, field interviews, and AI scenes for situations that were not ethical to film: average donation lifts 40-60% because the viewer does not see a statistic, they see a person.
An ad talks about impact. A mini-doc shows it.
- ✓ Documentary format is perceived as ~3.8x more credible than an ad in persuasion research.
- ✓ 5-10 minute runtime allows real character development, not just facts.
- ✓ The film serves conferences, fundraising, the website, and pitches to potential donors.
- ✓ AI fill saves months of shooting and lets you document scenarios that would otherwise be impossible.
A mini-documentary impact film is a short documentary production of 5-10 minutes that captures the gap between the state before your organization acted and the state after. Built like a short documentary episode with lead characters, conflict, resolution, and a message. It combines interviews with real beneficiaries, B-roll shot in the field, and scenes produced in Seedance 2.0, Veo 3, and Sora 2 to show scenarios that could not be (or should not have been) filmed in reality.
The film does not try to sell directly. It builds long-term trust with donors, partners, decision-makers, and journalists. A nonprofit using a good mini-doc on the site and across channels sees a 40-60% lift in average donation, because the viewer is not hit with a slogan; they meet a specific person they identify with. The same principle works for commercial companies with a social dimension — climate, health, education, employment. A strong social-impact film gets a donation from someone who never donated before.
My process starts with research. I spend a day or two at the organization, interview staff and beneficiaries, and identify which person can carry the story on their shoulders. Once we have a central character we write the script, shoot in the field for 2-4 days, and produce AI scenes to fill what cannot be shot. Hebrew voiceover gets produced in ElevenLabs when natural voice is not available, and the sound mix is done in a studio so the film reads as broadcast documentary, not a marketing video.
Character-driven narrative
Instead of cumulative data, the film builds a story around one person the organization impacted — that is what works emotionally.
Shot + AI mix
Scenarios that cannot be filmed are produced in Veo 3 and Sora 2 — at quality that does not give the production away.
Platform cuts
Long version for the website and conferences, 3-minute cut for the donation campaign, 30-60 second cuts for social.
Raw material delivery
You receive the raw interview footage and B-roll for future use in decks, on the site, and in donor reports.

FAQ
How long does a mini-documentary take?
6-10 weeks from first meeting to delivery. Two weeks for research and script, 2-4 production days, 3-4 weeks for edit and AI fill, a week for revisions.
How do you choose the central character?
During the research day I interview several potential candidates — beneficiaries, staff, volunteers. The chosen character has a story with a clear arc, the ability to speak naturally on camera, and willingness to be exposed.
When do you use AI vs film?
I always film the central character, the interviews, and field B-roll. AI is used for scenes from the past, scenarios that would not be ethical to film, or visualizing statistics.
