Can I offer a discount in exchange for a review?
No — Google policy explicitly forbids any incentive for reviews. That includes discount, raffle entry, free gift, customer reward. Even a soft suggestion ("would love a 5-star review") is in the gray zone. The reviews that come from an unincentivized system are the ones Google trusts.
How many reviews per month is realistic?
Customer volume and request rate set the ceiling. Roughly 10-15% of customers asked will leave a review. A business serving 50 customers a month should aim for 5-8 reviews monthly. An ecommerce store serving 500 customers can target 50-70. Above 15% of the customer base, Google starts flagging the velocity as suspicious.
What about the existing reviews?
